TOOTSIE 1982 is a satirical, romantic, comedy drama from the US. It centres around an actor who although talented just cannot land a part so has the bright idea to cross dress and go for an audition for a female role which he/she gets. The film then follows the trials and tribulations of the actors life as his professional female persona starts to over flow in to his male romantic life both on and off the screen. Directed by Sidney Pollock the film was a huge success for all involved in it and grossed over $240 million at the box office. This Polish poster differs vastly from the more cliche western version, being a more mature depiction of a man just starting to make the transformation to his female alter ego. For the early 1980’s this was a subject most were not familiar with. A true collectors piece.
