Quadrophenia 1979 is a British drama film about the Mod’s and Rocker’s in London of the early 1960’s. Co written and directed by Franc Roddam the film is based on the 1973 rock opera by the British band The WHO, but the film is not a musical. A young Mod, Jimmy Cooper chooses to escape his humdrum life and dead end job by partying and doing drugs and fighting with the Rockers. Playing Jimmy is Phil Daniels and he is joined in the cast by Leslie Ash, Toyah Wilcox, Philip Davis, Sting, Ray Winstone and Mark Wingett. The iconic poster of the cast standing in a line is the same image used for the original 1979 re release.
