Lisztomania 1975 is a British musical biographical comedy about the 19th century composer Franz Liszt. Written and directed by ken Russell who’s screenplay is loosely based on a 1848 memoir titled ‘Nelida’ by Marie d’Agoult about her affair with Liszt. After finishing Tommy, Russell again chose Roger Daltrey to play the title role. In the supporting cast are Ringo Starr, Rick Wakeman, Paul Nicholas, Sarah Kestelman and Fiona Lewis. A froth production and not as successful as Tommy it has still gone on to become a Ken Russell classic. The hugely talented poster artist Vic Fair is responsible for the poster design which features Daltrey as Lizt, front and centre.
