Hedwig And The Angry Inch is a 2001 drama comedy musical from America originating from the stage musical by John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask, who are also responsible for the films screenplay. Hedwig is an East German rock singer and ‘The Angry Inch’ are her band. Starring and directed by John Cameron Mitchell, in the supporting cast are Andrea Martin, Michael Pitt and Miriam Shor. Although only given a limited release the film was critically acclaimed and won several festival and critics’ awards and was nominated for many others. Since it’s release the movie has since become a hugely popular cult film, with the iconic poster that hardly differs in image from one international market to the next. A rare collectors piece nowadays that’s becoming scarcer and scarcer to find.
