DEATH IN VENICE is a 1971 adaptation by Luchino Visconti and Nicola Badalucco of the 1912 novella by Thomas Mann, of the same name. This film is the second in the thematic German trilogy by Luchino Visconti. The film stars Dirk Bogarde, Bjorn Andresen, Silvana Mangano, Mark Burns, Nora Ricci, Marisa Berenson, Romola Valli and Carole Andre. An enormously successful and multi awarding winning Film. The poster shows the the lead character (Dirk Bogarde), and the second character (Bjorn Andresen), who is the subject of his fascination, against a backdrop of the setting of the film….the Edwardian Venetian Lido. A truly beautiful, thought provoking image, in muted tones designed by Ferracci.
