The Ballad of Narayama 1983 Polish B1 Style B

This is the second Polish poster for this Japanese film in our collection. It is a very graphic and haunting image that illustrates the brutality of a legendary cruel tradition. The film follows a mother and son in a remote area of Japan, where life is very hard and lived in the moment. When an elderly person reaches 70 years of age, they are taken by a family member up the high Mount Narayama. Here they are left to die of starvation and the freezing cold winter. Starring: Ken Ogata and Sumiko Sakamoto.
